DIVINE TRANSFORMATION

SERMON TOPIC: Divine Transformation
BIBLE TEXT: I Samuel 16: 11-23

Key Verse 13 “ Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah”.
Divine transformation is a change that occurs in a person, group of people, a place or a thing as a result of God’s intervention.
The change can either be sudden or takes a period, due to an act or a process involved. But in all, the recipient of a divine transformation will completely be different from its initial form.
From our lead Bible text in I Samuel 16:11-23, David, the relegated shepherd-boy , who was only known for his ability to tend his father’s sheep, as soon as God’s servant Prophet Samuel anointed him, the Spirit of God came upon him and God transformed him from being a follower of sheep to a follower of King Saul (the king’s Armourbearer , I Samuel 16:21). Oh what a miraculous swift promotion it was for David.
The Bible is flooded with several examples of Divine transformation, from the story of creation to John divine’s revelation, God in His awesome power has been the initiator of such miracle, and He is still intervening in situations of man to cause a divine change, and whenever it happens;

1. Captives become captains E.g. Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego (Daniel 1:3-7)
2. Yokes and stigmas are broken, E.g. the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25-34)
3. Chains of darkness are destroyed E.g. madman of Gadarene (Mark 5: 1-19)
4. The barren becomes Mothers of children E.g. Sarah, Rachael, Hannah, Elizabeth etc
5. Divine promotion occurs ,E.g. Fishermen to fishers of men (Luke 5:1-10)
6. The unemployed becomes employed and employers of labour (Matthew 20:1-16)
7. Hardship and poverty becomes prosperity and abundance 2king 7:1-20
8. The dead becomes a living soul E.g. Lazarus (John 11:1-45)
9. The sick gets healed , E.g. The centurion’s servant (Matthew 8:5-13)
10. The sinner is saved E.g. Zaccheus (Luke 19:1-9)
In all, it is evident that God is the only One that can step into all situations of life and cause a change.

Are you having any seemingly impossible challenge, and it’s taking your bedtime?
Look up to Jesus Christ, for He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Ephesians 3:20.
Call upon Him and He shall save thee out of it all in Jesus Christ Name Amen.
God bless you.
