DELIVERANCE FROM FLOODS OF DARKNESS

SERMON TOPIC: Deliverance from floods of darkness.

BIBLE TEXT: Psalm 69: 1-4

Key Verse 1 “Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul”.

Flood is the physical movement of water either from rain or water bodies, over a dry land, which can lead to loss of lives, properties and place of residence.

Floods of darkness, like the physical flowing water from rain and water bodies, is a spiritual weapon of darkness targeted at a person, family or place, by the devil and his agents; in order to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10a).

Like in the days of Noah, the flood from the rain was a destructive weapon from God to end the race of wickedness (Genesis 7:23), but God in His word (Genesis 9:8-17) promised never to wreck mankind in such manner again.

From our lead Bible text in Psalm 69:1-4, satan the devil takes up such a destructive weapon against his prime targets. Thus, a life or family or place affected with floods of darkness experience the following:

1. Unstable spiritual life (Psalm 69:1)
2. Cycle of problems from within and without (Psalm 69:2)
3. Hardship and sorrowful situations of unknown origin (Psalm 69:3)
4. Unusual hatred from friends and foes (Psalm 69:4)

However, no matter the rage of the heathen or choice of satanic weapon through floods of darkness, God (The Mighty Man in Battles), has assured us through His word in Isaiah 54:17 “ No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD “.

Are you, your family, friends or neighborhood, experiencing a life submerged in the floods of darkness? Don’t back down on God. Keep trusting His saving strength, for He says in Isaiah 59:19 “So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him “.

Henceforth, engage in spiritual warfare, calling unto God in prayers, through righteousness as David in Psalm 69:14-16, and God by His mighty and saving hands shall deliver you from sinking in the mire and floods of darkness in Jesus Christ Name.
