DIVINE RESTORATION

DIVINE RESTORATION

BIBLE TEXT: 2 Kings 8: 1-6

Key Verse 6 “And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now”.

Divine restoration is the act of repaying or giving back to the rightful owner that which was taken from him/her forcefully as a result of God’s order or intervention.
From our lead text in 2Kings 8:1-6, the woman who had earlier experienced a joyous encounter of a dead son restored to life, is now faced with a sorrowful situation of a lost home and land , due to famine for seven years. And she hopefully approached a heathen king for aid to reverse the crises, at this point, God intervened and her pleas were granted.
No matter the length of time or kind of loss we have experienced, God is still fulfilling His words of restoring the years that the locust , the cankerworm, the caterpillar, and the palmerworm hath eaten (Joel 2:25), so that we can find rest for our troubled soul. He keeps repeating same daily in our lives just as he did in the Bible days, so we can remain focused on Him, despite the pain we are facing.
For Example:
1. God made Abimelech to restored Abraham’s wife Sarah and their troubled marriage had peace (Gen. 20: 1-18)
2. The Chief Butler’s job was restored after being fired and imprisoned by Pharaoh (Gen. 40:1-21)
3. Jairus dead daughter was restored to life by an encounter with Jesus Christ (Mark 5:21-43)
4. Jesus Christ restored the troubled health of the woman with an issue of blood for twelve years (Mark 5:25-34)
5. God restores rights e.g. birthright, kingship, land, business, opportunities , e.t.c (Ezekiel 21:27)
Beloved , God’s words are true, real and living (John 6:63). Whatever He did in the past to change hopeless situations , He can still do same today and forever.
Keep studying His words, listening to them to build your faith, praying to Him and believing that He is able to restore all that has been lost , and He shall do same to His Glory in Jesus Christ Name, Amen.
God bless You!
